Details – NZ Seniors Pickleball Tournament 2021

Pickleball Auckland Central will be holding the first NZ Seniors Pickleball Tournament on Thursday and Friday, 28th & 29th January 2021.  The tournament will be held at Panmure YMCA, 46 Domain Road, Panmure, Auckland. This facility has 6 indoor courts, with an upstairs viewing deck, catered kitchen area and spacious lounge.

The tournament will use 2021 USAPA/IFP rules.   The tournament ball is to be the Indoor Jug.

Registration desk will be open from 8.30 am on Thursday 28th. Tournament briefing will be at 8.50 am.  Play will commence at 9.15 am. Preliminary rounds will be Round Robin format, guaranteed 3 games, and will be to 15 points or 20 minutes duration, whichever comes first.   Semi-finals and Finals will be best of 3 games to 11.  Each player will be assigned a game to help score. Most elimination rounds to be refereed. Score Sheets will be provided for each game and must be signed by a player from each team upon completion of the game.

There will be 3 categories – Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles. Participants must be 60 years of age or over at the time of the tournament.  Please be sure to record your playing partner name(s) on the form below – it is your responsibility to find your playing partners. Note that players partners need to register separately. 

Registrations will be accepted on a first come first served basis.
The full draw will be made available one week prior to the tournament.

All payments must be in full and are non-refundable unless Covid-19 restrictions prevent the holding of the tournament.  Registrations will close on Friday 8th January, if events are not filled prior.

All players and their partners are invited to attend our Tournament dinner to be held at Imperial Palace, 519 Ellerslie-Panmure Highway, Panmure on Thursday evening from 6:30pm. Cost is $35 per person.  An awesome Chinese Banquet will be served.  Cash bar will be available.

Dinner must be pre-paid with the Tournament Entry. This will be a great evening and provides a lovely opportunity to meet and chat with other pickleballers in a relaxed setting.
